Direct carving
A form that seeks its autonomy and balance. At the heart of things, connected to something ancient/universal. A form that comes without an image, the freedom to bring a form to life in the face of all those that are imposed. Making gestures, going through the body. To experience a process and a relationship with the matter whose form is resulted. When it appears, it surprises me. My work is a desire for communication, for connection with the outside, with the soul of the world. Terms and forms of nature
Text 1
When I cut wood - oak in particular - I enter into a process. There is no image of the form to come. It is an oscillation between my gestures, my intentionality and the material - a living piece of the world that connects me to first principles.
The sculpture closes in on itself but it is not a finished object, it is stopped at a given time: the end of the experience.
A way of holding oneself in the world - standing up, (alone) in the wind -
Fundamental research on instability - as wealth and as movement - based on the notions of bridges and stilts.
A vocabulary of the living is being written, with the desire to let speak what constitutes me - constitutes us - as present in the world - beyond species, civilizations and systems - and in relation to the outside (elements, flows, living beings, rocks, memories...)
